DESKTOP APPLICATIONS

For clients wanting to update their own website, we recommend and set up Adobe Contribute - software which currently costs about $NZ312

Advantages:

• The website can still remain associated with templates speeding up sitewide changes such as navigation changes.
• Different people can be given the permissions to edit different parts of the site.
• Sections of the site can be locked to prevent accidental damage.

Note:

• Web pages can be fragile. With a visual editor, you can get into a situation that can only be fixed by editing the code.
• There is a learning curve. Not all companies have staff with the time or skills to take on this role.
• You may find that your site does not maintain the layout standards of a professional site.
• To add images you will need image editing software and the expertise to optimise images for fast download on the web.
